In Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, Photo Spots are scenic landmark locations across Australia marked on the map by a distinct camera icon — curated viewpoints the developers consider worth pausing for, rather than player-placed structures.
Unlike Mexico, which contains none, every confirmed Photo Spot sits within the Australian continent. All known locations are included on our Death Stranding 2 interactive map for Australia.
Press the left side of the DualSense Touchpad to open Photo Mode, which pauses the game and brings up camera settings including angle adjustment and an option to toggle the Death Stranding 2 logo overlay.
Press Square to hide the menu, then press X to capture the shot. Screenshots are saved to the Ring Terminal, accessible through the Social Strand Service's Photos Tab, and also appear automatically as a post by Sam on the SSS Home tab — visible to other players through the game's asynchronous online system.
Unlike many open-world photo collectibles, no trophy in Death Stranding 2 requires visiting every Photo Spot.
The relevant trophy — using a screenshot taken in Photo Mode to decorate the private room — can be earned from any photograph taken anywhere in the game, including standard scenery, not exclusively at marked Photo Spot locations.
Visiting these curated viewpoints is purely optional, intended to highlight some of the game's most striking vistas for players who enjoy the photo-sharing side of the Social Strand System.
